web>clicker

Click to Learn. Connect to Save.

Available NOW, web>clicker is a browser-based voting tool that combines the simplicity of i>clicker with the flexibility of laptops and handheld devices. web>clicker works on any standard web browser, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, including Safari for iPhone and iPod Touch.  Unlike other browser-based systems, there are no confusing codes or IP addresses to mar the user experience. Students’ focus remains on the lecture, not the technology.

i>clicker remotes can be used alongside web>clicker in the same classroom. Faculty can even allow students to vote via web>clicker from remote locations like off-site classrooms, homes, or offices. Student web>clicker and i>clicker responses are compiled in one results graph, and the data is collectively recorded in i>grader.

web>clicker system requirements

web>clicker is an Internet-based response technology.  As such, each user will have an individual wireless device on which he/she will respond to in-class questions. It is strongly recommended that students use Wi-Fi connectivity (as opposed to a cellular data network), when possible, for reliability and bandwidth purposes. The number of students capable of using web>clicker at one time in a classroom will be limited by the capacity of the campus Wi-Fi system.  It is highly recommended that campus IT be involved early on in the decision-making progress.

Minimum Campus Wi-Fi System Requirements:

  • The network must not block. upload or download from iclicker.com.
  • Capable of supporting the estimated maximum number of simultaneous web>clicker users within the same access area. For example, if 60 students are using web>clicker in the same classroom, the Access Point(s) (AP(s)) covering that classroom must be able to support at least 60 discrete, simultaneous users.
  • Sufficient bandwidth to handle the cluster of users. The following are up- and downstream bandwidth guidelines, as bandwidth availability is highly dependent on the number of other users on the same AP streaming data other than web>clicker (which is a low-bandwidth application):

1-30 users         128kbps
31-99 users       512kbps
100+ users        T1 (or better)
