Applets and other tools to use with i>clicker

I just came back from the Clicker Conference at the Univ. of Louisville and now have a lot of great ideas to digest, then apply to my own teaching.

One of the many great things I experienced at the conference was Tim Stelzer's talk, during which he used a little program to pull clicker data into a little spreadsheet that appeared in his slide and used it to pull out the clicker IDs with the highest score for the session, then randomly select one of those for a "fabulous prize."

I'm not sure whether I'd ever use that particular little applet, but I'd sure like to know HOW one does such a thing.

Does anyone out there have any resources for making such tools?  Or, are these things that can be easily copied and used by others?  If that's possible, maybe i>clicker could host a wiki or other forum to which folks could post their applets?

Cheers,

-kevin

Re: Applets and other tools to use with i>clicker

Hi Kevin

I'd be happy to share the macro that I wrote for topclicker.  If you are familiar with excel, then it will be relatively easy to modify it do other perhaps more useful things with the data.

Hi Kevin, it's Sarah Martin from i>clicker!  Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the Louisville Conference...thanks for your idea for hosting a wiki/area where we can post applets.  I'm investigating now and will let you know what I found out!  Thanks again...

Re: Applets and other tools to use with i>clicker

Thanks for sharing your macro, Tim!

I'm sure that once I see it, I can figure out how manipulate it to do other things . . . or will have fun trying.

Can you post it here? . . . or would it better to send via emai?  kpatton@stchas.edu

I enjoyed your talk at the Clicker Conference and appreciate what you continue to do to help us all become better teachers.

Regards,

-kevin

Re: Applets and other tools to use with i>clicker

Hi Sarah.  Did anything ever happen with the wiki post applets idea?  Also, do you have Tim's 'topclicker score excel macro" for PC available? I just started using iclickers this week during my summer course and I'm looking for innovative ideas....the idea of 'the topclicker of the day' prize might be a good one I'd like to try.
